Two held with drugs at Baga bridge 

Mapusa: The Anjuna police, on Friday, informed that they have arrested a duo for possessing narcotics, suspected to be ganja, weighing 5 kg, during a raid that was conducted near the Baga bridge.

The police said that on Friday at around 1.50 am, a raid was conducted  near Baga bridge by a police team led by PSI Francisco Xavier, and comprising head constable Shyamsundar Parsekar, police constables Avir Kalangutkar, Vitthal Ghadi, Shamba Shetgaonkar, and Deepesh Chodankar, and added that  Rasidul Mondal (29) and Laijur Molla (26), both natives of West Bengal and residents of Calangute, were caught red-handed while they had come to deliver 5 kg of ganja to their prospective customer on a scooter bearing registration number GA-03-W-9089.

The police said that they conducted panchanama, and seized drugs and registered offence

under 20(b) (ii) (B) of NDPS Act against both the accused and arrested them.
