Rahul arriving today

Panaji: Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will arrive in Goa for a daylong visit on Saturday.

Soon after his arrival on Saturday morning, he will head to Velsao in South Goa where he will interact with the fisherfolk affected by the railway double-tracking project and coal transportation.

In the afternoon, Gandhi will visit Martyrs’ Memorial at the Azad Maidan in Panaji to pay homage to the martyrs, who laid down their precious lives for Goa’s liberation struggle.

Gandhi is scheduled to meet people affected by mining closure at a hotel in Bambolim.

Later in the day, the Congress MP will address Congress workers’ convention ‘Jagor’ at the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee indoor stadium at Taleigao Plateau.

And at the same venue, Gandhi is expected to hold a closed-door meeting with senior local leaders of the party and also chiefs of the party’s frontal organisations.
