Says CM alone is not to be blamed
Panaji: Governor of Meghalaya, Satya Pal Malik, following his recent serious allegations of rampant corruption against Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, on Wednesday toned down his attack and stated that Sawant alone is, however, not to be blamed.
“The entire government is in this; there are more people in this,” he revealed, adding, “I will not name them.”
Speaking to a local television channel, Malik, who is the ex-Governor of Goa, further said that his allegations should not be used as an excuse to seek resignation of Sawant. He also questioned the rationale behind his statements being used by the Opposition parties as an excuse to demand the ouster of Sawant.
“Why are they making noise now,” the Governor of Meghalaya questioned, further asking, “Didn’t they see what was happening in Goa all this while.”
“I love Goa people, I love Goa government and I also have affection towards the Chief Minister,” he stated, pointing out, “I am neither on a damage causing mission, nor taken any contract to discredit anybody.”
Malik further went on to say that Sawant alone is not guilty. “The entire government is in this; there are more people in this,” he divulged, adding, “I will not name them.”
