Case of attempt to commit murder: court orders to frame charges against accused

Additional District and Sessions Judge Vincent D’Silva has ordered to frame charges against alleged accused Amar Naik (33) of Mirabhag, Curchorem for attempting to commit murder of Vasudev Naik (62) of Mirabag, Curchorem.

As per the charge-sheet filed by Curchorem police in the court,   the alleged accused Amar Naik entered into arguments with Vasudev  Naik, a resident of Mirabag, Curchorem,   and later upon sudden provocation took out a stick and assaulted Vasudev on his head, thereby causing him serious injuries.

Charge-sheet filed by the Curchorem police before the court  states that the alleged accused Amar Naik  abused  Vasudev Naik. Curchorem police had sent the charge-sheet against Amar Naik in the court on October 3, 2020.

The Curchorem police said that the injured   was taken to hospital for treatment.

The Curchorem police based on the complaint had registered offences against Amar Naik under Section 307 of the IPC for attempting to commit murder and Section 504 of the IPC for abusing victim Vaudev Naik.

The Curchorem police  had arrested  the alleged accused Amar Naik on July 21, 2020  and lodged him in the police custody,  however,  thereafter he made application before sessions  court Margao, and bail was granted to him.

PSI Vaibhav Naik conducted investigation of the case under supervision of PI Ravi Dessai.
