Anticipatory bail granted in assault case

Vincent Silva, additional district and sessions judge on Thursday granted anticipatory bail to two alleged accused booked by Maina Curtorim police in an assault case.

The court ordered to release them on furnishing bail bond of
Rs 20,000 with one surety in the like amount in the event
of their arrest.

The court said that they shall report to investigating police officer for one month and thereafter once in a week till filing of the charge sheet. That they shall not
visit the village of Davorlim-Rumdamol for a period of 15 days and cooperate
with the investigating police officer.

Jayesh Naik of Calconda had lodged a complaint with the police alleging that at Davorlim three persons, with their intention, entered the property of Shree Swami Samarth temple and wrongfully restrained him and
his son.

Further that the complainant was assaulted with iron pipe and his son with punches and also the complainant Jayesh threatened with dire consequences.
Maina Curtorim police had registered the offence under Sections 341,324, 506 (ii) read with Section
34 of IPC.

Meanwhile, the court on Thursday also granted anticipatory bail to Naik and son. The court ordered to release them on furnishing bail bond of Rs 20,000 with one surety in like amount in the event
of their arrest.
