Luizinho resigned as MLA; Congress reduced to 4 MLAs, assembly strength now 39

Digital Goa, Sept 27 – Senior Congress leader, Ex-CM and Navelim MLA Luizinho Falerio tendered his resignation as Navelim MLA today. He submitted his resignation to Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker Rajesh Patnekar at 12.30 pm today. Luizinho has already announced his intention to join Trinamool Congress this afternoon. With his resignation, Congress party has reduced to just four MLAs in Goa assembly. The Congress party which became largest single party in the state with 17 seats in 2017 elections, has today reduced to four after series of defections marred the party. The strength of the assembly has also been reduced to 39.
