‘Swayamrojgar’ camp held at Assonora

Panaji: Rotary Club of Mapuca, Innerwheel Club of Mapuca and Rotary Club of Mhapsa Elite jointly organised a Swayamrojgar, mega health and medical equipment donation camp at Assonora, recently.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant inaugurated the camp. The members of Inner Wheel Club of Mapuca along with its president Rajavi Mahabal and secretary Shambhavi Rao were also present. The camp was held under the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Swayampurna Goa’ programme of the state government.

The Chief Minister applauded the efforts of these clubs in taking ahead the ambitious initiative of the government, which focuses on increasing the economic activities in the state.

The camp witnessed the Inner Wheel Club of Mapuca handing over an ‘atta chakki’ machine to Pragati Village Organisation, an association formed by 13 self-help groups in the Assonora village, and having 250 members.

The club stated that the machine will help the women, who plan to expand their business into packaging and selling of various kinds of atta, as also ready-mix flour for chakli, papad and other edible items.
