Digital Goa, Aug 30 – Hundreds of doctors from all parts of Goa today marched on the Porvorim police station demanding immediate arrest of one Minesh Narvekar for allegedly assaulting a doctor in Porvorim based Hospital. The doctors took the senior police officers to task for not arresting the culprit even after 48 hours from the incident and warned that the entire medical fraternity will go on strike if police fail to arrest him by Wednesday morning. It may be noted that Dr Amol Tilve was roughed up by the accused on Friday Aug 27 in a Porvorim based hospital following the death of a newborn. The accused was booked after a complaint was filed by the doctor. “Accused was sitting in the hospital even after the assault but no effort was made by police to arrest him,” charged doctors.
