Panaji: Minister of State for Tourism, Ports, Shipping and Waterways and senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party Shripad Naik on Tuesday said the BJP’s election board is the final authority to decide on ticket allocation for the state assembly election.
“From each of the constituencies, 2 to 3 names will be sent by the state election committee to the central election board of the BJP, which is the final authority for allotment of tickets,” he added.
This statement has put to rest the claims made by many aspirants for the BJP candidature that they would be contesting elections as BJP candidates from the respective constituencies.
“Decisions in the party are taken by the seniors,” Naik observed, pointing out, “I have never asked for anything from the party and have always tried to do justice to all responsibilities assigned to me.”
Speaking further, the North Goa Member of Parliament said that he is of the personal opinion that his party should consider alliance options as they generally give positive results.
