Digital Goa, Aug 29 – Goa will receive tied grant of Rs 176 crore for improvement in water supply and sanitation facilities for the five years 2021–22 to 2025–26 as per recommendations of the 15th Finance Commission. The Rs 176 crore grant will be distributed over the period of 5 years as follows – Rs 34 crores each for financial years 2021-22 , 2022-23 and 2023-24, Rs 38 crore for 2024-25 and Rs 36 crore for 2025-26. As per 15th Finance Commission recommendations, Rs. 1.42 Lakh Crore tied grant have been allotted to rural local bodies (RLBs)/ panchayats across India for water and sanitation. Incidentally of the 28 states Sikkim will receive least i.e. Rs 100 crore funds followed by Goa at Rs 176 crore. Maximum i.e. Rs 22,808 core grants have been allotted to UP.
