Minister for Social Welfare Milind Naik said that the pension issue of the seafarers will be resolved soon after holding discussion with the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
Replying on the demands in the state legislative assembly on Wednesday, the Minister also said that the government has not stopped any of the existing social welfare schemes.
Responding to the issues raised by the legislators on the floor of the House pertaining to the department of municipal administration, Naik assured that the government is positive on demand for regularisation of contractual staff in various municipal councils.
“I will discuss the matter with the Chief Minister and the Secretary of Urban Development and ensure that the contractual municipal staff is regularised,” he said.
The Minister also said that the upgradation work of historic Lohia Maidan would be taken up soon.
He said that the order has been issued for demolishing the old Sanguem municipal building. Naik, who holds river navigation portfolio, also said that the government is in process of starting the RoRo ferry service.
