Chain-snatching incident reported at Marcel

Ponda: Some unknown thieves snatched away part of a gold chain from a woman’s neck while she was proceeding on a scooter, at Marcel.

In this incident, the woman sustained injuries, as she fell down, after losing control over the scooter following scuffle with the chain snatcher.

According to the police, the incident occurred on Thursday evening when the woman was proceeding towards her house at Marcel on Banastari – Marcel main road. An unknown person tried to stop her on the pretext of asking something, and suddenly snatched her gold chain; in a swift move, the woman grabbed back her chain, but the culprit managed to take away part of it.

The woman sustained injuries as she fell down after losing control over the scooter. The woman provided details about the accused to the police, and  further investigation is in progress.
