Margao: A 45-year-old scooter rider was killed in a road accident reported near Colva junction. The Fatorda police said that there was a collision between a car and a scooter, which claimed the life of Wilson Souza, a resident of Benaulim.
The police said that one Deepak (42), a resident of Sangli-Maharashtra drove his car in a rash and negligent manner, endangering human life and without taking care while proceeding from old market and upon reaching one chapel in that area dashed the vehicle against the oncoming scooter. “The scooter rider sustained injuries and was taken to Hospicio Hospital, Margao, however, he was declared brought dead by doctor on duty,” added the police.
Based on complaint, the Fatorda police have registered offences under Section 279 and Section 304A of the IPC for driving car in a rash and negligent manner and causing death of Wilson.
