Manohar Kerkar was elected unopposed as the Sarpanch of Arambol Panchayat on Wednesday in a special meeting held at the panchayat.
On Wednesday a special meeting was held at the panchayat which was presided over by presiding officer Krishna Gadekar along with panchayat secretary Dashrath Parab wherein only one application of Manohar Kerkar was received. After following all processes Kerkar was declared as the new Sarpanch after following all processes. During the meeting, out of nine Panchayat members, 7 panch members were present. The post was lying vacant since June 14 as former sarpanch Pratiksha Naik had tendered her resignation as per mutual understanding.
Newly elected sarpanch Kerkar said that development has gained momentum with the full support of the MLA till now.
Mandrem MLA Dayanand Sopte congratulated Kerkar and wished him all the best for his tenure as sarpanch.
