Digital Goa, June 27 – Goa Forward party chief Vijay Sardessai has charged the Goa govt of committing ‘Heritage Gate’ scam by handing over refurbished Aguada Jail premises to a private firm. He demanded an independent probe into the alleged irregularities in handing over the heritage site to a firm, allegedly owned by the son of a senior ruling party leader.
Govt suppressing voice of opposition by curtailing assembly session for just 3 days
He also strongly objected to the cabinet decision to hold upcoming assembly session just for 3 days. “The govt is trying to suppress the voice of opposition by curtailing the assembly session”, he said in the presence of other two MLAs of Goa Forward after the legislature party meeting. Referring to an RTI reply, Vijay said that the much touted Rs 300 crores funds announced by Centre for Goa’s 60th liberation day celebrations have not been released to Goa yet. This shows that the “double engine” of BJP govt at Centre and State have failed, he said.
