CM hails FM’s stimulus package

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday welcomed the decision of the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to provide stimulus package for the tourism industry, which is expected to assist Goa in boosting its tourism.

“I am yet to go through the details of the decision, and once I go through it, I will react in detail,” he added.

The Union Finance Minister has announced a slew of measures including new scheme to revive tourism with 100 per cent guaranteed loans, and financial support to be extended to more than 11,000 registered tourist guides, and travel as well as tourism stakeholders. She also announced free tourist visas to five lakh tourists, a scheme that is applicable till March 31, 2022 or till the first five lakh visas get covered, whichever is earlier.

Earlier, the Chief Minister launched the redesigned website of the state BJP unit, at party’s city headquarters, in the presence of the local BJP leaders.

Speaking on the occasion, Sawant said that the newly designed website would help the party in better interaction with the public.

“The new website will display all the achievements of the BJP governments, which came to power in the state, as also the achievements of the Members of Parliament of the party,” he added.

The state BJP president, Sadanand Tanawade, speaking on the occasion said that the day to day activities of the party, in the state would be posted on the new
website.

“The website will also be open for suggestions,” he added, pointing out that the information about the past state presidents of the party would also find place on this website.

State general secretaries of BJP Narendra Sawaikar and Damodar Naik as well as convener of the state social media unit of the party Rupesh Kamat were also present.
