A three-day monsoon session of the Goa legislative assembly will begin from July 28, 2021.

Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has summoned the fifteenth session of seventh legislative assembly of Goa on July 28 at 11.30 am.

According to the bulletin issued on Monday by the Legislature secretary Namrata Ulman, the session of Goa legislative assembly will be held from July 28 to July 30.

The budget session of the legislative assembly, which had begun on March 24, 2021, was adjourned after conducting four days business.

The budget session was supposed to be held for 13 days. However, in view of rising cases of COVID-19 and the code of conduct imposed for five municipal councils, it was curtailed to four days.

Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat said that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant-led BJP government is scared to face the opposition in the House hence it has decided to do the formality of holding a three-day session.

“The insensitive, corrupt & failed @BJP4GoaGovernment is now frightened to face the Opposition & converts the XVth Session of VIIth Goa Legislative Assembly into a mere formality. This is yet again the part of Undeclared Emergency by @goacm to suppress the Voice of People in Goa,” Kamat tweeted.
