Digital Goa, May 30 – Goa govt will give ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to economically weaker families whose earning members have expired due to covid, announced CM Pramod Sawant today. He was addressing the state on 35th Goa Statehood Day.
Priority groups for vaccination in 18 to 44 age groups
Informing that vaccination will re-commence for the 18 to 44 age group from June 3, CM announced that priority will be given to both parents of children who are below 2 years of age. In addition co-morbid people in this age group, Rickshaw & taxi drivers and motorcycle pilots, persons with disabilities and seafarers will also be given priority.
Schemes for orphaned children
Sawant also announced a monthly stipend scheme for orphaned children. Orphaned children studying in Std 10 and above will be given free laptops. Stipend given to child care institutions per orphan child has been extended from 18-years to 21 years.
Rs 50,000 fund for weaker panchayats
CM also announced that funds of Rs 50,000 will be given to weaker panchayats by Monday or Tuesday for use as cyclone or covid relief.
All covid schemes by center to be applicable in Goa
In addition, all schemes related to covid relief which have been announced by the center will be made applicable to eligible beneficiaries in Goa.
