Goa on Thursday saw a drop of seven per cent in COVID-19 test positivity rate as 25.27 per cent of the total samples tested were found positive for the virus as against 32.22 per cent positivity rate recorded on Wednesday.
On May 5, 2021, the positivity rate had touched all-time high of 51.64 per cent in the state. Of the 5,951 samples drawn for testing in the last 24 hours, 1,504 tested positive while during the same period 1,557 recoveries have been reported.
As on Thursday, the state has 15,699 active COVID-19 cases including 1,356 new patients who availed the option of home isolation in the last 24 hours.
The confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Goa currently stand at 1,52,401 of which 1,34,164 patients have recovered from the disease.
According to the DHS, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of other urban health centres stand as follows: Margao- 1,455 cases, Vasco – 472 cases, Panaji- 893 cases and Mapusa – 464 cases.
While active positive cases in the jurisdictions of community health centres are as follows: Sankhali – 477 cases, Bicholim – 357 cases, Pernem – 516 cases, Valpoi – 437 cases, Curchorem – 536 cases and Canacona – 319 cases.
And, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of primary health centres stand as follows: Aldona – 338 cases, Betki – 389 cases, Candolim- 618 cases, Cansarvanem – 126 cases, Colvale – 395 cases, Corlim – 475 cases, Chimbel – 832 cases, Siolim – 503 cases, Porvorim- 738 cases, Mayem – 136 cases, Balli – 337 cases, Cansaulim – 577 cases, Chinchinim – 225 cases, Cortalim – 598 cases, Curtorim – 435 cases, Loutolim – 479 cases, Marcaim – 233 cases, Quepem – 338 cases, Sanguem – 210 cases, Shiroda- 280 cases, Dharbandora – 367 cases, Ponda – 870 cases and Navelim – 271 cases.
