Panaji: The Congress party on Tuesday said that the BJP-led government is “clueless” and has “no action plan” in place to tackle current COVID-19 crisis in the state.
“Entire system has collapsed. Health Minister and Chief Minister are busy scoring political brownie points on each other. People are suffering. Government is clueless and has no plan of action in place. How will COVID-19 infected patients survive, if there is no treatment facility available,” Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president Girish Chodankar questioned.
In a statement issued here, the Congress president claimed that the BJP government has failed to create adequate medical facilities in the last 12 months despite knowing that the second wave of COVID-19 may hit anytime.
He stated that the hospitals are working beyond their capacity and that patients are put on floors, stretchers and chairs as there are no beds available.
“Yesterday (Monday) Health Minister posted on his verified Facebook account that in coming days 200-300 deaths will occur in Goa. He later deleted the tweet. People want to know whether he posted it to warn people about the reality or create panic? Did he delete the tweet after getting a warning
from the Modi-Shah duo or the Chief Minister ordered him to do so,” Chodankar asked.
