Goa sees 2,110 fresh cases of COVID

Panaji: The state continued to report an alarmingly high number of coronavirus infections, as 2,110 fresh cases of the COVID-19 pandemic were recorded on Tuesday.

The pandemic claimed 31 more lives in the last 24 hours. As many as 203 COVID-19 patients have died in just last nine days; till date a total of 1,086 patients have succumbed to the disease in Goa. As on Tuesday, the state had 16,591 active COVID-19 cases of which majority fall under the jurisdictions of Urban Health Centre of Margao (1,764) followed by Primary Health Centres of Candolim (1,392) and Porvorim (1,182).

The confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Goa currently stand at 81,908 of which 64,231 patients have defeated the deadly disease which also include 748 COVID patients who have been declared as recovered in the last 24 hours.

According to the DHS, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of other urban health centres stand as follows: Vasco – 781 cases, Panaji- 956 and Mapusa – 847 cases. While active positive cases in the jurisdictions of community health centres are as follows: Sankhali – 511 cases, Bicholim – 585 cases, Pernem – 352 cases, Valpoi – 251 cases, Curchorem – 318 cases and Canacona – 284 cases.

And, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of primary health centres stand as follows: Aldona – 310 cases, Betki – 182 cases, Cansarvanem – 88 cases, Colvale – 298 cases, Corlim – 287 cases, Chimbel – 589 cases, Siolim – 515 cases, Mayem – 159 cases,  Balli – 273 cases, Cansaulim – 577 cases, Chinchinim – 219 cases, Cortalim – 993 cases, Curtorim – 248 cases, Loutolim – 293 cases, Marcaim – 197 cases, Quepem – 229 cases, Sanguem – 123 cases, Shiroda- 248 cases, Dharbandora – 273 cases, Ponda – 958 cases and Navelim – 279 cases.
