Goa reports 170 new cases of COVID-19

Goa continued to report a spike in daily fresh coronavirus infections, as 170 new cases of the COVID-19 were detected on Saturday, taking the tally of active cases to 1,379.

Panaji, Margao, Ponda, Vasco, Candolim and Porvorim are the major contributors to the surge in daily new COVID-19 cases.

The COVID death count rose to 824 with one more patient losing the battle against the virus in the last 24 hours. The confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Goa currently stand at 57,453, of which 55,250 patients have defeated the deadly virus.

Around 69 COVID-19 patients have recovered from the disease on Saturday.

According to the DHS, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of UHCs stand as follows: Margao – 134, Vasco – 105, Panaji- 178 and Mapusa – 56. While, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of CHCs are as follows: Sankhali – 26, Bicholim -15, Pernem – 24, Valpoi – 3, Curchorem – 18 and Canacona – 12. And, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of PHCs stand as follows: Aldona – 21, Betki – 19, Candolim – 103, Cansarvanem – 2, Colvale – 16, Corlim – 29, Chimbel – 39, Siolim – 45, Porvorim – 121, Mayem – 3,  Balli – 18, Cansaulim – 61, Chinchinim- 40, Cortalim – 65, Curtorim – 17, Loutolim – 18, Marcaim – 12, Quepem – 9, Sanguem -5, Shiroda- 3, Dharbandora – 19, Ponda – 113 and Navelim – 27.
