Goa logs 131 more COVID cases

Goa continued to report a spike in daily new and fresh coronavirus infections, as 131 new cases of the COVID-19 were detected on Sunday, taking the tally of active cases to 1,404.

Panaji, Margao, Ponda, Vasco, Candolim and Porvorim are the major contributors to the surge in daily new COVID-19 cases.

The COVID death count rose to 826 with two more patients lost the battle against the virus in the last 24 hours.

The confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Goa currently stand at 57,584, of which 55,354 patients have defeated the deadly virus.

Around 104 COVID-19 patients have recovered from the disease on Sunday.

According to the Directorate of Health Services, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of other urban health centres stand as follows: Margao – 153 cases, Vasco – 99 cases, Panaji- 167 and Mapusa – 61 cases.

While, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of community health centres are as follows: Sankhali – 27 cases, Bicholim – 13 cases, Pernem – 22 cases, Valpoi – 02 cases, Curchorem – 17 cases and Canacona – 13 cases.

And, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of primary health centres stand as follows: Aldona – 28 cases, Betki – 20 cases, Candolim – 106 cases, Cansarvanem – 4 cases, Colvale – 13 cases, Corlim – 21 cases, Chimbel – 43 cases, Siolim – 50 cases, Porvorim – 113 cases, Mayem – 1 case,  Balli – 16 cases, Cansaulim – 62 cases, Chinchinim – 42 cases, Cortalim – 69 cases, Curtorim – 16 cases, Loutolim – 20 cases, Marcaim – 12 cases, Quepem – 9 cases, Sanguem – 4 cases, Shiroda- 04 cases, Dharbandora – 19 cases, Ponda – 113 cases and Navelim – 24 cases.
