Not possible to complete proceedings on disqualification petitions against 12 MLAs in one day Speaker tells SC; seeks clarification

Digital Goa, Feb 24 – It may not be possible to complete and conclude the proceedings on the disqualification petitions filed against 12 defecting MLA in one day i.e. Feb 26, Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker stated in an affidavit filed before the Supreme Court. Speaker has said in the affidavit that since the Feb 10,2021 order of the apex court had asked that the proceedings be disposed on Feb 26, he has sought suitable clarification in the matter and presented an application for relief from court order. 10 Congress and 2 MGP MLAs had defected to ruling BJP in 2019. Both Congress and MGP have filed disqualification petitions against their Ex-MLAs.
