Max limit of election expenses for Municipal candidates capped at Rs 2 lakh

Digital Goa, Feb 24 – The maximum limit of total election expenses by a candidate in a Ward of Municipal Councils Elections has been fixed at Rs 2 lakh only, except for Corporation of City of Panaji which is fixed at Rs 2.50 lakhs. The Commission has also decided that the votes shall be given by Ballot as in all the Municipal councils and by Electronic Voting Machines in Corporation of the City of Panaji(CCP). The nomination papers in respect of General Elections to 11 Municipal Councils going to poll on 20th March, 2021, shall be accepted by the respective Returning Officer at the notified place from 25th February, 2021 to 4th March, 2021 from 10am to 1 pm except onFebruary 28, 2021 being Sunday. It has also been directed that the indelible ink mark shall be put on left middle finger of every voter at the polling Station before issue of ballot paper instead of left forefinger.
