Large number of Taxi drivers gather outside Transport Directors office demanding scrapping of GoaMiles

Digital Goa, Feb 24 – Large number of taxi drivers from across Goa gathered outside Junta House in Panaji today demanding to know the status of the next round of discussions which were assured by CM Pramod Sawant and Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho in the contentious GoaMiles app bases taxi aggregator service matter. CM had commenced discussions with taxi associations in Jan 2021. He had assured to take a “balanced decision” in the interest of tourism and taxi operators in the state in the meetings that would follow soon. Taxi drivers demanded to know the status of the matter from the Transport Director. Incidentally, the director was not available in his office. The agitators went to CM’s official residence at Altinho from Junta House, but they could not meet him as well as Sawant was in South Goa. Taxi drivers are demanding scrapping of GoaMiles.
