Digital Goa, Feb 22 – The High Powered Committee constituted for setting up of Solid Waste Management Project at Sonsodo, held its meeting today. CM Pramod Sawant chaired the meeting attended by Urban Development Minister Milind Naik and 3 Salcete MLAs Digambar Kamat, Vijai Sardesai, Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco among others. Treating of the Sonsodo garbage and related issues were reviewed and discussed during the meeting. The issue will be resolved soon, said CM. “No major decisions have been taken in view of the code of conduct. We have offered various suggestions and have asked the government to prepare a plan of action,” said Kamat. Another meeting will be held later to discuss the detailed plan of action, he added.
Sonsodo, Verna and Cacora plants will solve garbage treatment problem of South Goa
“Two Bio-digesters will be put up at Sonsodo and a big shed will be put on the reclaimed land. Garbage issue will be solved,” asserted Solid Waste Management Minister Michael Lobo. Along with this garage treatment projects will come up at Verna and Cacora. With all these, the garbage problem of entire South Goa will be resolved asserted Lobo.
Contractor will be finalized for Bainguinim garbage treatment plant in April, Lobo informed.
