West Bengal native arrested at Dabolim airport with 2,170 gram gold worth Rs 95 lakh

Digital Goa, Jan 24 – Foreign origin gold weighing 2,170 grams and worth approximately Rs 95.03 lakhs was seized from a passenger who arrived at Dabolim airport from New Delhi. Elaborating on the modus operandi of the gang that smuggled the gold, Custom officials informed that the gold was smuggled on the Dubai to Goa flight which had a stopover at Delhi. The gold was left below the seat of the flight which doubled as Goa to Delhi domestic flight. Another passenger from the same gang occupied the seat at Delhi and took charge of the hidden gold. The passenger who is a native of West Bengal was nabbed by the custom officials with the gold when he arrived at the Dabolim Airport.
