Digital Goa, Jan 28 – Higher power panel meeting will be called to resolved the Sonsodo garbage treatment plants related issues by Feb 10 , CM Pramod Sawant assured the house today. Opposition cornered the govt today for failure to resolve the Sonsodo issue alleging that conflict between cabinet ministers was also creating hurdles in resolution of the problem. Solid Waste Management Minister Michael Lobo told the house that instead of 7 five TPD plants, his department now proposes to set up one big garbage treatment plant on the lines of Saligao plant at Sonsodo. Opposition reacted strongly to this announcement and sought clarity over the matter further pointing out that Rs 49 crore have been deposited under Fourteenth Finance Commission by Margao Municipality for setting up of the plants. “The proposal has been sent to Directorate of Municipal Administration(DMA), the approval might be pending. I will get the file back from DMA,” said CM. He further assures the house that he will call for high powered committee meeting and take a final decision.
