Goa govt has emphasized the need for the three linear projects before CEC:CM

Digital Goa, Jan 22- Goa government has put all the facts before Central Empowered Committee (CEC) and also emphasized on the need to have all the three linear projects in Goa said CM Pramod Sawant today. “People should also tell CEC. After two years if there is electricity shortage in Goa people should not curse the govt,” said Sawant. CEC constituted by the Supreme Court of India has started the site inspection of the three linear projects passing through Goa and Karnataka forests from Jan 21. Yesterday, CEC conducted site visit of proposed 4 lane NH-4A falling in Goa and Karnataka and the proposed alignment of Goa Tamnar Transmission Line in Kali Tiger Reserve and forest areas falling in Karnataka with the Forest Dept & Ministry of Road Transport & Highways officials. Today , the team conducted a site inspection of the proposed doubling of railway line from Tinaghat to Kulem by rail inspection car.
“All 3 linear projects are required in the interest of Goa and govt will go ahead with the projects. We will take stakeholders into confidence,” asserted CM.
