Digital Goa, Jan 29 – Nearly 9.79 lakh tourists, 7,000 of whom were international tourists visited the state during Covid times, the house was told today. Goa Tourism Development Corporation(GTDC) had conducted a State-wise survey through KPMG Consultant to understand the impact of Covid-19 on Goa Tourism Industry. As per the Survey the overall loss of earning in tourism industry during lockdown has been estimated at Rs.2,062 crores. Potential loss of earning for the 2020-21 season will be Rs.7,239 crores and the potential job cuts will be 1.22 lakh (58%), the house was told in a written reply.
