Digital Goa, Jan 27 – Mopa Airport construction work is in progress and first phase is expected to be commissioned in the year 2022 CM Pramod Sawant told the house today. The physical progress achieved in construction of Mopa Airport up to Dec 31,2020 is 19.59%. he added. Initially, Government had given 634 days extension for construction due to restraint on the project by the courts and thereafter 90 days extension due to Covid-19 impact on the construction work. The Concessionaire had claimed compensation owing to cost and time over run due to restraint from courts on the project. However, being Force Majeure event, Government has rejected the claim, CM added. He also informed the house that the land acquisition process has begun for approach road and the competent authority for land acquisition has issued 3A notification for the same as per National Highway Act.
