SC raps Goa for failure to protect ‘valuable land’

Coming down heavily on the state government for filing the petition as a ‘mere formality’ after a delay of 462 days to claim ownership over a valuable government land in possession of a company, the Supreme Court imposed costs of Rs 15,000 on deputy conservator of forests for ‘wastage of judicial time’.
