Digital Goa, Nov 23 – Goa govt launched Whatspp helpline 7875756177 today to help women in distress. The dedicated Whatsapp number will be functional round the clock at the state police control room, Panaji to redress grievances of women in distress and can be used to send images as well as videos. Messages will be attended at the police control room and police assistance will be provided to the person affected through the concerned police station, informed DGP Mukesh Kumar Meena.
Speaking at the launch of the helpline CM Pramod Sawant claimed that highest narcotic drug seizures have happened in Goa in the last 16 months further adding that drugs worth Rs 3 crore were seized by the police in a single raid. “Crime detection rate has increased,” he asserted. Stating that 1,200 odd vacancies in police dept and home guards will be filled up after the moratorium get lifted from Nov 30, CM added that police dept manpower as well as infrastructure will be upgraded very soon. Goa Shipyard handed over an ambulance to the Goa govt during the function.
