Sharada Mandir Trust Announces the Opening of its New School at Kadamba Plateau

Admissions Open for Academic Year 2021 – 2022

Sharada Mandir Trust announced today that its second school (and sister school to Sharada Mandir School, Miramar) in Goa at Kadamba will be ready in early 2021. This second school will help make the time proven and trusted Sharada Mandir School ethos, curriculum and learning  accessible to more students by virtue of its geographical location and additional student capacity. It will be headed by Ms. Auria Fernandes who is currently Vice Principal at Sharada Mandir School, Miramar.

The brand new, state of the art campus spread over 15,500 square metres in the fast-developing region of Kadamba Plateau is designed to house academic and administration blocks, an auditorium, a football field, libraries and a basketball court among other amenities. The school is a short distance away from the new Healthway Hospital and easily accessible from Panaji, Old Goa, Porvorim, Mapusa, Cortalim and Ponda.

In continuation with our commitment to education in Goa, this new school will continue in the footsteps of Sharada Mandir School, Miramar with a shared ethos and value-based teaching, high standards of scholarship, citizenship, and personal responsibility.

Ms. Auria Fernandes said, “Our endeavour at Sharada Mandir School, Kadamba will be to engage hearts, ignite curious minds and nurture confident happy young people. I am honoured to be selected as Principal of Sharada Mandir School, Kadamba, having served as an educator for 30 years in the Sharada Mandir family and look forward to fulfilling this new role”.

In line with the ethos, principles and teaching offered at the Sharada Mandir Miramar School, students at Sharada Mandir School, Kadamba, will be evaluated continuously as part of the proprietary ‘uniQ’ programme that strives to develop each child’s individuality along the lines of 5 Cs – Critical Thinking, Communication, Cooperation, Compassion and Community Life. Besides academic studies, students will also learn coding which will equip them with this much-needed skill for the future while also participating in performing arts and a variety of indoor and outdoor sports. This school will function as a full-day school and run 5 days per week and 2 half-Saturdays per month. At the end of each school day, students would be able to take pride in the fact that they completed all school work and home work within school hours. Nutritious meals and safe transportation will be provided to all students by the school.

Sharada Mandir School is an ICSE Board, English medium, co-ed school that was established in June 1966. The Higher Secondary section was established in July 2013 and has 3 streams – Humanities, Commerce and Science. The School is managed by the Sharada Mandir Trust which envisions Sharada Mandir School as a school that is as good as the best in India, where holistic development is of prime importance. Keeping student support in mind, the school, located in scenic Miramar, is very well equipped with a First Aid Centre, Counselling Centres for various sections, a Special Education Cell for the Junior and Secondary sections and a Life Skills Resource Room that caters to students with special learning needs and autism. Physical education, sports & games, computer awareness, environmental education, project work and Socially Useful & Productive Work (SUPW) are all vital parts of the school’s curriculum.
