Digital Goa, Nov 23 – Goa government must refrain from changing Excise Laws for facilitating entry of Liquor Barons and commercialisation of Feni, the Heritage Drink of Goa said Leader of Opposition, Digambar Kamat. “Feni has a tradition of production process and needs to be preserved with auctioning of Cashew Groves and setting up of Pot Stills which is unique,” he added. The All Goa Cashew Feni Distillers and Bottlers Association have also opposed the modifications proposed by the government to the Excise Act which proposes to do away with auctioning of cashew zones/groves.
