Digital Goa, Nov 23 – Goa State Pollution Control Board has said in its preliminary report that the black substance found on the Querim beach is not coal but charcoal claimed Environment Minister Nilesh Cabral. He added that the matter will be further investigated in the next 3 to 4 days to identify the reason behind the washing away of the charcoal on the beach. Two separate instances of the dark substance were found – in South Goa along the Benaulim beach by fishermen and water sports operators and on Querim beach in North Goa by Environmentalist Claude Alvares. Stating that the claims that the black substance was coal were false, Cabral added that he would submit a report to the chief Minister regarding this issue.
