Behind closed doors at Old Goa, St Xavier novenas begin

The campus of the Basilica of Bom Jesus, usually filled with thousands of pilgrims on November 24 every year, wore a deserted look on Tuesday, as the novenas for the feast of St Francis Xavier began. For the first time ever, the Masses were celebrated exclusively online, with scores of devotees from Goa and beyond attending them from their homes.
