Digital Goa, Oct 29 – One-time power dues settlement scheme for electricity consumers will be operational from Dec 2020 informed Power Minister Nilesh Cabral today. Dues are pending from 38,000 consumers he added. Related notification will be released very shortly, he said. State cabinet has recently cleared the One-time settlement scheme for consumers of the Electricity so that outstanding power bills can be paid with full or part-waiver of delayed payment charges (DPC). Electricity Dept engineers will be given targets to recover the outstanding dues, informed the minister.
Coal has been coming to Goa since 1947
Speaking on the issue of coal and related public agitations in the state the minister asserted that coal has been coming to the Goa port since 1947. “There is no question of making Goa a coal hub,” he added.
