Scrap dealer and three pipe thieves arrested for stealing pipes worth Rs 7.5 lakh

Digital Goa, Aug 27 – Four people were arrested by Verna police today for stealing Plastic Pipes worth Rs 7.5 lakh used in underground gas connections. Two auto rickshaws used in the crime and 30 kg crushed plastic has also been recovered from the accused. Verna police initiated the action based on a complaint filed by an official from North Star Techno services Pvt. Ltd on July 8,2020 that prior to July 3, unknown accused person had committed theft of gas underlaying plastic pipes worth Rs.7.5 lakh which was kept on the site near MES College area, Zuarinagar. Two of the nabbed accused- Salman Ali (age 26 yrs) residing at Chandor and Shivram Yadav (age 24 yrs) residing at Valpoi are natives of Uttar Pradesh. While the third accused Ubed Tabeeb (age 25 yrs) is resident of Nessai, Sao Jose Areal. Police have also arrested the scrap dealer Abdul Quadri (age 35 yrs) from Nessai, Sao Jose Areal for buying the stolen goods. Police have also attached two auto Rickshaws (used for transportation of stolen pipes), one grinding machine (used for crushing stolen plastic pipes) and 30 kgs of crushed plastic.
