Digital Goa, May 28: A whooping 1.6 crore tourists visited Goa last year states a report submitted by consultancy firm KPMG to the state tourism department. “ As per report given by KPMG, almost 1.6 crore tourists visited Goa last year. Of these nearly 90 lakh stayed in hotels registered with tourism dept,” informed Tourism Minister Babu Azgaonkar. “Experts want tourism to start in Goa, but we are not in a hurry,” said Azgaonkar. “Every tourist arriving in the state will be tested for Covid-19 once tourism starts. Tourists will be allowed to stay only in those hotels and guest houses which are registered with the tourism department,” he added.
