Goan who visited Mumbai to pick up family members tests positive for Covid -19 on return. 9 more patients declared cured reducing active count to 31

Digital Goa, May 27 : A Goan who had gone to Mumbai to collect two of his family members is tested positive for Covid-19 on return. Both the family members who travelled with him have tested negative but are put under quarantine. Nine more Covid-19 patients were declared cured today taking the count of cured patients in the state to 37 and active Covid positive cases to 31. Of the 608 samples sent for testing today 1 has tested positive while 112 reports are awaited. 244 people are presently placed under facility quarantine in centers across Goa.
As per the protocol followed by state Health department, asymptomatic patients are tested after seven days with the test repeated after 24 hours. Once both the tests are negative they are discharged. Symptomatic patients are tested seven days after they turn asymptomatic. When the test result is negative it is repeated and if negative again, the patient is discharged
