Digital Goa, Mar 25 – The Economic Survey 2024-25, tabled in the Goa Legislative Assembly by CM Pramod Sawant, projects Goa’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) at Rs 1,21,309.02 crore for 2024-25, with an anticipated growth of 13.87%. The growth is mainly due to anticipated resumption of Mining & Quarrying activities after auctioning of mining leases in the State and various infrastructure projects undertaken by the Government, adds the report. Incidentally, in 2023-24, the GSDP grew by 13.73%, reaching Rs 1,06,532.57 crore. Per capita income has also risen from Rs 4.85 lakh in 2019-20 to Rs 6.74 lakh in 2023-24, states the Economy Survey. Repair NOC in 3 days or deemed issued: Govt simplifies process for existing homes

Digital Goa, Apr 9 – In a relief to homeowners, Goa government has announced streamlining of the process for obtaining permission to repair existing single dwelling units or structures. Panchayat Secretaries have been directed to issue No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for house repairs within 3 days of application, provided certain conditions are met. Applicants must submit the house tax receipt, Form 1 & 14, an old photograph of the house, the new plan, estimated cost, and a structural stability report from a certified engineer or architect. The application must be submitted to the Panchayat which will act as a single-point of clearance, informed CM Pramod Sawant. Importantly, the matter need not be placed before the Panchayat body meeting. A circular will be issued to all Panchayats today, he added. Schools will reopen as per schedule declared by education department: CM Sawant

Digital Goa, Mar 20- Schools will reopen as per the schedule declared by the Education department, informed CM Pramod Sawant. Education Dept had issued a draft notification on March 12 announcing that he academic year for Class I to V and Class IX shall ordinarily commence from June and shall end in April. The academic year for Class VI to X and Class XII shall ordinarily commence from April and shall end in March. Provided that there shall be a break of one week between the end of the academic year and the beginning of the new academic year for this category, the notification had added.
