Digital Goa, June 7 – Nearly 98 % of the work of the Greenfield airport at Mopa is complete. The airport will be inaugurated sometime between Aug 15 to Aug 31, depending on availability of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The airport will start functioning in full-fledged manner from Sept 1, informed CM Pramod Sawant today. Certification process and testing the airport for smooth landing and takeoff will commence soon, he added. CM was speaking at the event organized to handover job offer letters of GMR -the project proponent of Mopa Airport, to 90 youth. CM said 150 youth who start their 3-months training at the Aviation Skill Development center from tomorrow will be absorbed in service after completion of the training . In addition GMR will appoint 500 more youth in the next 6 months, he added.
