Digital Goa, Apr 19 – Goa govt will purchase 120 MW power from open market to fulfill the demand of the power shortage hit industry in the state, informed CM Pramod Sawant today. “Maximum power requirement of the industry will be fulfilled. 120 MW power will be purchased by the govt from open market and given to the industry,” he said on the sideline of a function at Pernem. Industry leaders said they have accepted to bear the additional cost of purchase of power as their operations have been severely affected due to the shortage. However,industry has urged the govt to adopt measures such as controlling power leakage , pilferage etc to reduce the intensity of the problem and also reduce the burden on the industry.
