Digital Goa, Apr 3 – With mix and match of Tourism and IT the two portfolios allotted to him, Minister Rohan Khaunte said he will bring in changes which will help in the development of the state, create opportunities for the youth and also help stop brain drain. “Tourism is major backbone for the economic condition of the state and IT has to be the new backbone for the state,” he asserted. “IT Industry will see something big, something good in the days to come,” he added. He spoke of making effective use of IT in the administration & governance, creating new industries, providing employment opportunities and also opportunities for youth to be employers.
Tourism Industry needs a good roadmap, reforms in Tourism Act & Ease of Doing Business : Rohan
The new tourism minister said that his goal was to make Goa a topmost tourism destination for quality tourism. Speaking of tourism as primary revenue churner for the state , Rohan asserted the need for creation of a good roadmap focusing on quality rather than quantity, for the tourism industry in Goa. He spoke of highlighting hitherto untouched areas like culture and heritage tourism. He stressed upon the need for reforms in Tourism Act and improvement in Ease of Doing Business.
