Rent-a-bike operators seek relaxation on maximum number of licences per owner

Digital Goa, Apr 13 – Rent-a-bike operators from North Goa beach belt met Director of Transport today and requested him to allow them to retain the licences of more than 10 bikes which they currently possess. As per the existing govt scheme max vehicles per license is 10. The operators are seeking relaxation claiming that their businesses were hit during covid pandemic. The operators also want the maximum life of rent-a-bikes to be increased from 6 years to 9 years given the rise in cost of vehicles.
