PWD AE & JE responsible for Chorla Ghat to Sanquelim road suspended pending inquiry for substandard work

Through the same order govt has suspended concerned Assistant Engineer and Junior Engineer of PWD, for alleged substandard work of Chorla Ghat to Sanquelim road, pending inquiry. The suspension order is pertaining to improvement of existing road admeasuring 27 Kms from Chorla Ghat to Sanquelim. In the order CM has charged that the contractor has refrained from prioritizing the 10 KM road stretch passing through densely populated Sakhali to Keri area and instead given priority to 17 km roads stretch from Keri to Chorla Ghat. Quality control appears to have been compromised since the top layer i.e. Bituminous Concrete(BC) layer has slipped away at many places, the order observes. CM has also ordered third party audit of the work at the cost of the contractor.
