Govt has started working on restoration of temples destroyed during Portuguese era :CM

Digital Goa, Apr 6 – States Department of Archives and Archeology are working on the details related to the process of restoring temples which were destroyed during the Portuguese colonial era, said CM Pramod Sawant. He was speaking to media persons in the capital today. Govt has made budgetary allocated of Rs 20 crore for this purpose. “At many places in Goa, we find several temples in dilapidated and neglected conditions. During the Portuguese regime, there was a systematic effort to destroy these cultural centres. Considering tourism development, we have made a provision of Rs 20 crore for reconstruction and restoration of these temples and sites,” CM had said in his budget speech.
