Digital Goa, Apr 18 – Stating that religious conversions were not happening is Goa CLP leader Michael Lobo challenged CM to identify such churches and volunteered to accompany him there. “He has fired in the air, maybe to please his ‘bosses’ or somebody like that,” he added.
Release welfare scheme funds at the earliest
A delegation led by CLP leader Michael Lobo met the Director of Social Welfare demanding that the financial benefits under DSSS and Griha Aadhar be released to the beneficiary at the earliest. Funds have not been dispersed under the DSSS scheme for the past 3 months i.e. from January to March. Lobo also raised the issue of deletion of nearly 3,000 beneficiaries from the list as their addresses could not be verified by GEL. Stating that the process of verification was flawed, Lobo urged the department to bring in necessary changes in the process and release the funds at the earliest, as for many of the senior citizens scheme money was the sole source of living.
Decision on Tiger Reserve should be taken based on expert study report
Michael said that as CLP leader he will write to the Chief Conservator of Forest seeking a report about the presence of Tigers in Goa. Based on factual data, expert recommendations should be sought in the matter and decision should accordingly be taken about Tiger reserve, he added.
